WELCOME TO WELL BALANCED BLOG!

I'm so excited to finally have a place to share my personal health and fitness knowledge/experiences with all of you. I created this blog for people who want real knowledge about health and fitness from someone who experienced the peaks and valleys of it all. I have been at the top of my game, to the bottom and back again. I know what it's like to struggle with the balance part of healthy living. My goal for creating this blog is to help myself as I help you - I'm learning as I teach.

I grew up very over-weight and extremely insecure, but never had enough knowledge or will power to do anything about it. So, when I was 19, I decided to finally make a change and lost 100 lbs in 5 months. I was completely crazy about it, though. I was working out twice a day, not eating enough, and watching every single thing that went into my body. I was completely obsessed with losing weight. My methods were really just as unhealthy as being over-weight. I went to school and working out and that's it. I didn't have the time or calories to spare for any kind of social life. Once my body had worn itself out, I started to go out more and and work out less. Slowly I started to gain the weight back. I flipped from one extreme lifestyle to another just like that. This yo-yo effect continued for the next 2 years until I decided that I couldn't let what I love, health and fitness, to turn into an unhealthy addiction. I had to find balance to feel sane, and that is what Well Balanced Blog is about.

I plan to take everything I've learned along my journey and put it on this blog for you to read and hopefully improve some aspects of your life. I know what it's like to work a 9-5 desk job all day. I know what it's like to feel tired and unmotivated to be healthy or active when you're working full time. I know what it's like to feel a little overwhelmed and under-educated in a grocery store. I know what it's like to want to go out and have a few drinks on the weekends. I know what it's like to feed yourself on a budget. I also know that it IS all possible! Well Balanced Blog is here to give insight into the balance of being in your 20's and living a healthy lifestyle!
